Black Squall Cheat Codes

These cheat codes have been assembled from a variety of web-sites.  They have been tested and to the best of our knowledge, all work as described.  However, as with any cheat codes, USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!  Black Squall takes NO responsibility for the success or failure of these codes, or what they may do to your software / hardware.  If you find any that don't work, well, that's what you get for trying to cheat.  To the best of our knowledge, none of these cheat codes will work in multi-player games, and shame on you for wanting to cheat against humans.  Cheating against the computer can be very useful; there are numerous games which are extremely difficult, and without cheat codes they would be very difficult, frustrating, and time-consuming (as if they aren't that already) to learn how to play.  Also, sometimes you may just want to blast the hell out of something, and using cheat codes in single-player games allows you to do this without hurting anyone.  (Except a few computer pixels)
Here are the cheat codes:

Half-Life & Opposing Force Cheats

These cheats work the same in both games, except that Opposing Force adds some weapons that are not available in Half-Life.  Those are listed separately below the items and weapons that are available in BOTH games.  To use these cheats, you need the game Console.  To get this, you need to run  hl.exe  with the extension "-console".  For instructions on how to do this, go to the Black Squall Half Life page.
Once this is done, just click on the shortcut that includes "-console" in the command line and begin a new game or load a previously saved game.  Once the game has started, press the tilde ( ~ ) key to get to the console.  On the test computer the cheats only work after you first type "sv_cheats 1" ( without the quotation marks ) at the console prompt.  Then the cheats should work after a new map has been loaded, i.e. after the game pauses and you see "Loading..." on the screen.  On the test computer this is kind of quirky, it may behave differently on yours.  You'll know if it is working when you try typing these cheats into the console and the desired result happens.  Some of these are case sensitive, some are not.  If one way doesn't work, try the other way.  Also, a couple of these ( marked with an * ) have caused the game to crash on the test computer, while other times working fine.  As with any cheat codes, USE AT YOUR OWN RISK, we take NO responsibility for the success or failure of these codes.  Remember, these must be typed in at the console prompt, though you can also bind the individual commands or a complete "give" command to any unbound key; see Console & Binding on the Half-Life page for instructions on how to do this.
